Ingredients

  • 1 slice sourdough bread - see note 1
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Toppings

Instructions

  • Toast the sliced bread in a toaster, in an oven, or on a stovetop grill until each slice is crispy and golden.
  • Pick your toppings and sprinkle them on top of the peanut butter.

Blueberries and Almonds

  • Top the peanut butter toast with blueberries and toasted almond flakes or chopped almonds.

Banana, Hazelnuts and Chocolate Chips

  • Top with banana slices, chopped hazelnuts, and chocolate chips.

Strawberries, Chia Seeds, And Chocolate Chips

  • Slice the strawberries (or chop them into small cubes), and sprinkle with chia seeds and chocolate chips.

Chocolate And Peanuts

  • Put the chocolate into a small, microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave for two 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval to ensure the chocolate melts smoothly. You can also melt the chocolate using the double boiler method on your stovetop (see note 2).
  • Sprinkle with roasted peanuts and some cacao nibs (or chocolate chips).
  • Serve Immediately!

Notes

Note 1 - Bread Thickness: Slicing the bread about 3/4-inch to 1-inch thick will give you the best of both worlds: crispy edges and a soft center.
Note 2 - Nutella? You can also use some homemade Nutella instead of melted chocolate.
How to store: Peanut butter toast is best eaten right after assembly, so you’ll experience the contrast of crunchy bread texture, creamy peanut butter, and toppings.
