This crunchy and creamy peanut butter toast is one of my all-time favorite easy breakfasts. Customize it with everything from fresh fruit to crushed nuts and melted chocolate to make your morning shine!
Toast the sliced bread in a toaster, in an oven, or on a stovetop grill until each slice is crispy and golden.
Pick your toppings and sprinkle them on top of the peanut butter.
Blueberries and Almonds
Top the peanut butter toast with blueberries and toasted almond flakes or chopped almonds.
Banana, Hazelnuts and Chocolate Chips
Top with banana slices, chopped hazelnuts, and chocolate chips.
Strawberries, Chia Seeds, And Chocolate Chips
Slice the strawberries (or chop them into small cubes), and sprinkle with chia seeds and chocolate chips.
Chocolate And Peanuts
Put the chocolate into a small, microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave for two 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval to ensure the chocolate melts smoothly. You can also melt the chocolate using the double boiler method on your stovetop (see note 2).
Sprinkle with roasted peanuts and some cacao nibs (or chocolate chips).
Serve Immediately!
Notes
Note 1 - Bread Thickness: Slicing the bread about 3/4-inch to 1-inch thick will give you the best of both worlds: crispy edges and a soft center.Note 2 - Nutella? You can also use some homemade Nutella instead of melted chocolate. How to store: Peanut butter toast is best eaten right after assembly, so you’ll experience the contrast of crunchy bread texture, creamy peanut butter, and toppings.*Nutrition information is a rough estimate per serving.
