Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese - full-fat or low-fat, as per your preference
  • ½ cup mixed fresh fruits - strawberries, blueberries, banana slices, etc.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup - optional
  • A pinch of cinnamon - vanilla, or nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon nuts or seeds like almonds - chia seeds, or flaxseeds (optional)
  • Granola - optional

Instructions

  • Wash and cut the fresh fruits into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, place the cottage cheese as the base layer.
  • If using, top the cottage cheese with granola and then with the cut fruits.
  • If you prefer, drizzle a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup over the top for some added sweetness.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for added flavor if you like.
  • Add a sprinkle of nuts or seeds for extra crunch and extra nutrition.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

How to store:
  • Assembled Bowl: If you've already assembled the bowl with cottage cheese and fruits, you should eat it within one day when stored in the refrigerator. The fruits can become soggy and lose their freshness.
  • Separate Components: If you store the cottage cheese and fruits separately, they can last according to their individual expiry dates:
    • Cottage Cheese: Generally lasts up to 1 week in the fridge once opened, but always check the expiry date.
    • Fresh Cut Fruits: Usually last 3-5 days in the fridge.
