This smooth and creamy avocado spread is gorgeous as a dip, piled high on toast, or even eaten by the spoonful. Made with just a few simple ingredients, this is a fresh recipe that you can whip up in minutes!
Use a spoon to scoop out the avocado flesh into a bowl.
Place all the ingredients in a food processor: avocado, lemon juice, salt, olive oil and black pepper.
Pulse until you reach the desired consistency. Some people like it chunky, while others prefer it smooth. You can also use a fork to mash the avocado until it reaches your desired consistency (note 1).
Give the spread a taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary. You may want to add more lemon juice or salt.
Use the avocado spread immediately or store it in an airtight container in the fridge (see notes below).
Notes
Note 1 - Use a fork: If you don’t have a food processor or are too lazy to use it, you can simply use a fork to mash the avocado. Then, add the other ingredients and give it a good stir to blend all the flavors. How to store: Avocado spread tends to brown quickly due to oxidation. To store it:
Option 1: Add a few drops of lemon juice on the top layer and press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the spread, making sure there are no air bubbles.
Option 2: Instead of plastic wrap, pour a thin layer of olive oil over the top.
Store in the fridge but eat it within 1-2 days.*Nutrition information is a rough estimate per serving.
